Engineer (Agriculture/Civil)

The Oviedo location of A. Duda & Sons, Inc. a diversified land company, has an immediate opening for a full-time salaried Engineer . The Engineer provides support to and reports to the Director of Engineering and Environmental Compliance. This role assists with the successful implementation of environmental programs and engineering projects. This includes researching properties and providing documentation regarding the historical and local requirements unique to each property, gathering information and providing technical analysis to ensure regulatory agency permit compliance, and providing engineering analysis in support of all business units.

The successful candidate will be able to support and meet the following responsibilities and requirements of the position.


  • Produce graphic representations using AutoCAD or other software to assist with the dissemination of information
  • Produce reports or letters to assist with the dissemination of information
  • Responsibilities include coordination with local government’s permitting programs, other Bureaus within the Division and other Divisions within the District
  • Collect field data and analyze data to aid project design or permit compliance
  • Assist with the preparation of permit applications for the various facilities and project requiring government review and authorization
  • Review and understand all corporate programs, methodologies, facilities, and productions systems designed to satisfy the various governmental rules and corporate policies
  • Assist with estimates and monitoring of project costs and timelines to ensure project success
  • Research property history to fully understand assets and liabilities from the environmental and operational perspective
  • Use skills and experience communicating credibly with engineering professionals, attorneys, construction professionals, developers, agriculturists and interested parties.
  • Must be able to analyze moderate to complex environmental resource permit applications and skillfully prepare the necessary written and oral reports commensurate with the complexity of the application


  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or similar expertise is required
  • Previous experience working with government agencies
  • Ability to lift at least 25lbs.
  • Ability to regularly climb, stoop and bend while working in office or warehouse environments
  • FL PE License a plus
  • Overnight travel may be required
