Golf Shop Merchandiser/Shop Attendant
Duran Golf Club has an opening for a full time Golf Shop Merchandiser/Shop Attendant who will be responsible for overseeing all golf shop merchandising functions, including merchandise selection, purchasing, inventory management, visual presentation, and sales promotion. Creates an exceptional retail experience for members and guests by providing knowledgeable service, maintaining a well-organized and inviting golf shop, and ensuring merchandise offerings reflect the club's brand and the needs of its membership while contributing to the golf operation's revenue objectives.
Responsibilities
Presents a diverse and desirable array of golf equipment, apparel, and accessories in line with customer demands. Maintain levels of product appropriate for the season and level of traffic through the Golf Shop.
Assists the Golf Professionals with the development and execution of general and seasonal merchandise plans, visual presentation guidelines and pricing strategies. Maintain an attractive and orderly appearance in and around the Golf Shop.
Maintains product documentation from purchase to sale; including receiving records, invoice validation/payment, inventory records and special-order records to document merchandise history.
Monitors safeguarding inventory and assets to reduce loss from theft, pilferage, defective/ damaged goods returns and markdowns.
Manages vendor performance to maximize profitability and achieve financial objectives. Maintain collaborative partnerships and negotiate effectively with vendors.
Analyzes sales and studies trends to determine additional needed sales promotions, markdowns and clearance sales.
Works regular scheduled shifts as a Golf Shop Attendant.
Requirements
High School diploma required. Associates degree preferred. A minimum of one year in retail merchandising, preferably in the golf industry. Five years of experience working in customer service. Strong organizational aptitude and communication skills. Desire to promote and market with professionalism. Proficient in business related software including Word and Excel. Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
